Float Like a Buffalo - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Float Like a Buffalo
Based out of Denver, Float Like A Buffalo’s sound can be described as a Funk Rock band, with blues and folk influences. This brings together an intoxicating sound that is sure to get you up and dancing to the beat. “One of the most exciting bands that we have heard!" They are known for the incredibly high energy they bring to their shows, which has earned them a loyal local fan base that will follow them anywhere.

Cory Pearman (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Garrett Achten (backup vocals, percussion) had a budding new friendship that started over music. Together, they started The Shower Curtains in late 2014, and shortly thereafter, brought in Garrett’s childhood friends Jason Clukies (backup vocals, bass) and Evan Crabdree (backup vocals, lead guitar) to funk things up. When they added drummer Phil Pleckham (backup vocals, drums) in early 2016, they knew they had something special. The newest additions of the blazing horns are Luke Story (saxophone, trumpet) and Cory “Beef” Meier (trombone) were brought in during the Spring of 2017 to solidify their special blend of funk rock.

Float Like A Buffalo was recently nominated for "Best Funk Band" by Denver's Westword Magazine and will be performing at this years Westword Music Showcase on June 23rd at La Rumba at 2:30pm in the afternoon. Click here to vote for us!

In the early summer of 2016, FLaB won the “Westword’s Best of The West” hosted by Herman’s Hideaway for that year. Out of over 80 of Colorado’s best local bands, they made it to the finals as underdogs and won the title “Best Of The West”. The band then went on to open the main stage at the Westword Music Festival in June of 2016 opening for bands such as Dillon Francis, Cold War Kids, New Politics, Brick + Mortar, Matt and Kim, and local favorites 888. The band continued their winning ways by taking the “Demo Derby” hosted by DJ Nerf from 93.3 KTCL. Afterwards they were interviewed on air by DJ Nerf while having a couple of select songs played from their debut EP “Enjoy The Ride”, which was released in September of 2016.
People Corrupting People - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
People Corrupting People
In the end, no one was ready...

We had spent so much time planning for it. So many hours spent prepping for doomsday; arming ourselves to protect our loved ones. We held so strong for so long, but our species grew too great, too quickly. There was nothing we could do to stop the collapse. We were broken from the inside. In the end, no one was ready. Plugged into technology but disconnected from each other, it is a surprise the fall did not come sooner. They took everything from you, and you let them do it. And now everyone is gone, and you stand alone in this foreign and dead new world. Fear not, new citizen. The People Corrupting People are here to herd the masses and give volume to their meager voices. The time has come to shake things up, and we will do that the only way we know how. Through the universal and irreplaceable power of music we, the People Corrupting People, will save this flock of abandoned sheep...

We, the People Corrupting People, In order to scorn a more perfect union, Demolish justice, Insure domestic futility, Divide with the common defense, Promote the general Warfare, And secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and ourselves only, Do ordain and establish this Constitution For the New United States of America.
Sky Choice Band - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Sky Choice Band
Sky Choice is a singer/songwriter with a bone to pick. After the realization that pop music struggles with lyrical depth, Sky thought to himself, "Why? Can't it be relatable as well as meaningful?" So, he did what any other future musician would do- he wrote a song. It was terrible. Well, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't what he was going for. So, Sky wrote another one. Well, that one was a little better, but he still wasn't satisfied. After 10 years of songwriting, Sky'd music has improved, though his hunger for a better song has never waned. With an EP, two full length albums, and several years of touring experience, there's still a lifetime of music ahead of him. The multi-instrumentalist dabbles in Pop, Folk, Blues, Rock, and R&B, giving the song whatever it needs to succeed.
